My name is Hashmat Arshad and I have been in the Insurance Sales Representative for Western Canada role for the past 6 months. I support the promotion, education, and sales of Sun Life insurance products to independent advisors, and mainly focus on engaging with new advisors to expand our distribution network while contributing to our product diversification goals and acquisition of individual life and health business.
I was previously with the Sun Life’s Group Disability Team for 1.5 years, which provided me the opportunity to deal directly with Sun Life clients as a Disability Case manager. I connected with clients navigating difficult situations and ensured they were fully supported by providing the best possible outcomes. This role also enhanced my importance of strong positive client experience.
My main focus is on growing our number of Engaged Advisors within the MGA market in Western Canada, by working closely with Regional Sales Directors to discover new relationships and develop deeper opportunities with our existing business partners. I plan to achieve this through maintaining my strong commitment of providing a positive experience to all the colleagues, clients, and advisors which I support.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, a Diploma in Rehabilitation Counselling, and I am fluently bilingual in French. I am eager to transition my skills to the insurance distribution team and I am deepening my knowledge of insurance sales while studying for my LLQP certification.
